Step 1: Plug the Windows 11 bootable drive (USB) and start your Windows PC. Step 2: Press any key to the boot from the device. Note: This step may be different for different manufacturersIf the space I want to partition and format is located on Disk 0, then I must SELECT Disk 0. "Disk 0 is now the selected disk." In my case, I have 465gb on DISK 0 with 400gb of free unallocated space (no FileSystem applied), so we'll have to partition some of that space into another drive with a FileSystem attached (FAT/FAT32, NTFS) before we The new drive has a 500GB C: drive and he wants to add the rest of the disk (should be about 430GB, currently unallocated) to C: to get a contiguous ~1TB C: partition. But there's a recovery partition sitting in the middle between the current C: drive and the unallocated space. Drive 0 unallocated space Total size 0.0mb Free space 0.0mb No other drive Windows cant be installed on this drive. This partition is too small. Make sure the size of this partition at Follow the steps below. Step 1. Go to Diskpart and type "list volume" and press Enter. Step 2. Type "select volume [drive letter]" and press Enter. (the 'drive letter' is the letter assigned to your unallocated hard drive. Step 3. Type "delete volume" and press Enter. Step 4. Type "list volume" and press Enter. 1. You cannot extend a disk partition to another disk. That cannot be done. You can add a D: drive as another drive. It can be basic or dynamic, but I always use Basic. If you need a bigger drive, then it appears now is the time to get a larger drive for your computer. Hit Enter. list volume. Next you will select the volume where you would like to install Windows 10. Type: select disk #. # represents the number the volume. Type: clean. convert mbr. create partition primary. active.
As such I must very much advise against using Dynamic Disks. If you're sure you want to proceed, just right-click on the drive area (to the left) in Disk Management and select the conversion option. Convert both drives. You can then extend your volume D: with the free space on drive 0. Again: Make very sure you want this.
